The founders of BDCP have been busy with life but that does not mean they put BDCP or dancing on hold!
Kim has been finishing some college courses, teaching beginners' hip-hop classes, reppin' Boogie Bots Crew, and continuing her training dancing with Culture Shock - DC. Definitely super woman. Kim also performaned at Culture Shock - DC's East Coast Dance Competition (ECDC)! Huge success! Maybe the biggest highlight of all was seeing Kim's face on national television on So You Think You Can Dance! Ok, so it was only a picture promoting Karla's ties to Boogie Bots, but it was still seen by millions of people!
Aaren is rockin' the engineering career and has found time to advise several dance groups at Virginia Tech. Somehow he has also found time to create some hot mixes. He should sell a CD of all the mixes he has made for different groups over the years! Currently, Aaren is super busy helping jump start BDCP's dance company and workshop series.
Cynthia and Brian finished their first year of teaching! In between grading papers and lesson plans, they have found time to take workshops with many top dancers, including Karla Garcia, Lyle Beniga, and several Culture Shock choreographers through ECDC. They traveled to New York City not only for Chicken and Rice but for Team Milennia's Prelude-EC competition. Congratulations Rhythm City for a well deserved first place win! Shout out to Project D that definitely should have placed.
What's up with BDCP? BDCP itself is still in the planning stages. Over the last two months that team has slowly grown to help with all the nuts and bolts that go with creating a non-profit. The fall season looks to be an exciting one! In other news...be on the look out for a collaboration workshop series with Kodachrome-VA in August in the Northern Virginia area!
